Performance Analyst

- Salary: $100,894 - $114,476 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role

The Performance Analyst plays a key support role in the delivery of analysis, insight and critical thinking within the Policy and Strategy Branch, to contribute to the branch's understanding of the VET system. The Training System Insights team is responsible for monitoring the delivery of vocational education and training in Victoria, to ensure that it is effectively targeted and aligned to Government policy priorities. It also conducts investigations into emerging trends to inform policy development. Reporting to the Principal Data Analyst, Training System Insights,



the role will support the development and application of frameworks to evaluate system performance.

Main accountabilities:

- Undertakes technical data analysis and modelling and prepares reports
- Researches and develops recommendations in a specific field of expertise
- Researches and applies advanced theoretical knowledge in a specialised field to operational problem solving
- Contributes expertise to a team working on complex projects

The Team

The position of Performance Analyst forms a part of the Policy and Strategy branch within the Skills and TAFE group.

Skills and TAFE (S&T;) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations. Policy and Strategy Branch (PSB) leads the system and strategic policy settings of Victoria's vocational education and training (VET) system so that it delivers high quality outcomes for learners and the Victorian economy.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

- Data Literacy: Ability to utilise advanced excel formulas, pivot tables and generation of data charts is required.
- Data Literacy: Considers data sources, collection and structure impacts in the delivery of data analysis.



Generates descriptive statistics and relevant data visualisation leading to decisions under the guidance from subject matter experts.
- Systems Thinking: Assesses situations and identifies the best systems tools for analysing, understanding the system and addressing problems; Can apply system archetypes to identify common dynamics that appear in different situations.
