About the Role
The Trainer & Assessor plays a key role in supporting safe and compliant operations across Wilmar's Cane Products business. Reporting to the Training Superintendent, this position is responsible for delivering and assessing training programs, maintaining training records, conducting Verification of Competency (VOC) activities, and ensuring employees meet legislative and organisational training requirements. The role works closely with operational teams, safety personnel, regional HR representatives, and external training providers to support workforce capability development
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver training and assessments – Facilitate practical, hands‑on training, assessments, and Verification of Competency (VOC) activities to build workforce capability and ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Keep training programs on track – Maintain accurate training records, monitor participant progress, complete reporting requirements, and assist with scheduling compliance training across multiple sites.
- Shape and improve learning resources – Develop, review, and update training materials to ensure they remain engaging, effective, and aligned with legislative and company requirements.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders – Partner with site leaders, safety teams, colleagues, and external training providers to deliver advice, support, and training solutions that add value.
- Champion safety and continuous improvement – Promote safe work practices, maintain training and industry qualifications, contribute to projects and improvement initiatives, and support others to achieve high standards.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings:
- You hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) and are passionate about developing people and building capability.
- You have strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
- You are highly organised, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage training activities, records and reporting requirements.
- You are a proactive team player who enjoys coaching, collaborating and supporting others to achieve positive outcomes.
- You are committed to safety, continuous improvement and delivering high‑quality training that helps people succeed in the workplace.
