Senior Project Manager Contract with State Gov

The team plays a key role in supporting the delivery of critical government initiatives, with an increasing focus on procurement, commercial outcomes, governance, and strategic sourcing. Working across complex and high-profile projects, you'll collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive outcomes that support public sector priorities across Queensland and nationally.

Your New Role As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the planning, governance, reporting, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects within a strategic sourcing and delivery portfolio. This is not a technical ICT implementation role; instead, it focuses on the successful delivery of government projects, procurement activities, and strategic initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include

- Developing and managing project plans, schedules, and delivery milestones.
- Leading governance, reporting, risk management, and assurance activities.
- Coordinating stakeholders across government and external delivery partners.
- Supporting procurement processes, market approaches, evaluation activities, and contract establishment.
- Preparing briefing notes, reports, business cases, recommendations, and approval documentation.
- Contributing to strategic sourcing initiatives and service delivery planning.
- Establishing and maintaining effective governance frameworks and project controls.
- Representing Queensland interests in cross-government and national forums where required.

Projects may span public safety initiatives,



critical communications and continuity services, and other strategically key government programs. What You'll Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of project delivery, governance, stakeholder engagement, and procurement capability within complex environments.

Key requirements include

- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects from initiation through to delivery.
- Strong governance, reporting, risk management, and assurance expertise.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and building effective working relationships.
- Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of briefings, business cases, reports, and executive documentation.
- Exposure to procurement activities, market approaches, or procurement-related project delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to adapt to evolving requirements and changing environments.
- Government experience will be highly regarded, although candidates with comparable experience delivering complex projects in other sectors are encouraged to apply.

Experience in critical communications, telecommunications, public safety, or emergency services is advantageous but not essential.
