As our Quality Control team continues to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated Senior QC Scientist with extensive HPLC experience to play a key role in supporting our GMP analytical testing and laboratory operations.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced analytical scientist to become one of the technical leaders within our QC laboratory. You will be responsible for performing, reviewing and troubleshooting chromatographic analyses while supporting method qualification, laboratory investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working within a collaborative GMP environment, you will help ensure analytical testing meets the highest standards of quality, compliance and scientific excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform and review HPLC/UPLC testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
- Act as the laboratory subject matter expert (SME) for chromatographic techniques.
- Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation to ensure reliable laboratory performance.
- Support analytical method development, optimisation, qualification and transfer.
- Review analytical data in accordance with GMP and ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
- Lead or support investigations relating to deviations, OOS and OOT results.
- Prepare and review SOPs, analytical methods, protocols and technical reports.
- Support equipment qualification, calibration and preventative maintenance activities.
- Train and mentor QC scientists in analytical techniques and GMP laboratory practices.




- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Control laboratory.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Process Development and Quality Assurance teams.

About You You are an experienced QC scientist who enjoys solving technical problems and maintaining the highest laboratory standards within a regulated environment.

Essential

- Minimum Masters in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology or a related scientific discipline.
- Significant experience working within a GMP pharmaceutical, biotechnology or biologics laboratory.
- Extensive hands-on experience with HPLC and/or UPLC systems.
- Strong knowledge of chromatographic method troubleshooting and optimisation.
- Experience in Method Validation.
- Experience reviewing analytical data and conducting laboratory investigations.
- Excellent understanding of GMP, data integrity and documentation requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to mentor junior scientists and work collaboratively across multiple teams.

Desirable
- Experience using Waters Empower or equivalent chromatography software.
- Experience with RNA or biologic products.
- Knowledge of ICH guidelines, PIC/S GMP and TGA regulatory requirements.
- Experience with analytical method validation and technology transfer.
- Familiarity with complementary analytical techniques such as CE, UV-Vis, LC-MS or particle characterisation.
