They are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering cloud-native applications while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity without compromising engineering quality.

This is an opportunity to influence architecture, mentor engineers and build modern applications using contemporary engineering practices.

Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop and deliver full-stack applications using JavaScript and Python while contributing to architectural decisions, software quality and engineering standards. You'll work across multiple concurrent projects, collaborate closely with product teams and utilise AI coding assistants responsibly to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain modern web applications using JavaScript and Python.
- Build scalable APIs, backend services and cloud-native applications.
- Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions.
- Deliver production-quality code using modern engineering best practices.
- Utilise AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor and GitHub Copilot while validating all generated code.
- Conduct peer code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
- Develop automated tests and improve application reliability.
- Build monitoring, automation and operational improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering capability.




- Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

- Strong commercial experience developing software using JavaScript and Python.
- Full-stack web application development experience.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with software architecture including MVC, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture and SOLID principles.
- Cloud development experience using AWS and/or Azure.
- REST API development experience.
- Strong database design and integration skills.
- Experience using AI coding assistants in production environments.
- Automated testing and scripting experience.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and container technologies are highly regarded.
- Experience with Node.js, Vue.js or similar frameworks is desirable.
- Startup, innovation or rapid product development experience will be highly regarded.
