Jones Retail Group is a multi-award winning and innovative independent grocer with a mission to deliver a never-before-seen supermarket experience to local communities across our 11 stores (and growing) in Queensland. Our business is on a growth trajectory and 2026 sees us mark our 31st year in Retail.

Due to our ongoing growth, we are expanding our Little Sushi Co Kiosks with the introduction of a new kiosk that will sit inside our beautiful IGA Manly Village. We are looking to add to our team of Sushi Makers with a role that will be split across two bayside locations , IGA Manly Village and IGA on Bloomfield. We are open to applications from candidates looking for either Full-Time or a Part Time position.

If you understand Japanese cuisine, have a passion for making Sushi, and can work independently and also as part of a team then please read on.

Your key responsibilities

- Production of quality sushi and Japanese cuisine
- Experience in preparing fish is preferred but not essential
- Ensure a high standard of food presentation
- Provide prompt, effective and friendly service to all Sushi customers
- Ensure the overall appearance of the Kiosk is clean, organised and visually presentable
- Work as part of a Team to achieve sales, gross profit & shrinkage budgets/targets
- Maintain stock levels

What you'll need to succeed





- Minimum 1 years' experience making quality sushi or related cooking discipline
- Basic familiarity with Japanese cuisine principles and cooking techniques or experience as a line cook in food industry
- Attention to detail in a high-pressure environment
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Possess good communication skills
- Exemplary personal presentation
- A personality that is vibrant and exceeds the utmost best customer service
- Thorough understanding of hygiene, food safety and WH&S;
- The ability to work during the daytime including a Saturday
- Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position
