As the Senior Software Licence Specialist, you will provide specialised software licence knowledge and analytical skills to develop licence compliance and cost management solutions that optimise software asset management services in a large, complex and dispersed ICT environment.
The Senior Software Licence
Specialist will manage a portfolio of software publishers, including vendor management, contract management, policy and process management.
What you'll do
- Manage software licencing activities for a portfolio of software publishers. This will include, but not be limited to, compliance, licence usage optimisation, true ups, renewals, reporting and vendor relations including contract management and software lifecycle management.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of licencing models of assigned portfolio of software publishers and provide subject matter expert advice in relation to the provisioning and management of their software across the Queensland Health environment.
- Establish and maintain software licence management tools and systems, ensuring that Queensland Health is managing compliance and risks (e.g. financial, legal) associated with complex licencing models.
- Prepare reports, submissions and other correspondence and statistics to Executive Level Managers, projects, internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of effective software licence management practices in Queensland Health. This may include:
- streamlining, standardising and optimising policies, procedures and processes; and
- developing the knowledge and skills of customers,
colleagues and team members in relation to the software licence compliance management and optimisation.
About you We are searching for someone who has:
- High level knowledge of Software Asset and Licence Management, including the demonstrated ability to apply software licence risk mitigation and cost management techniques and provide high level specialist advice. (SFIA: ASMG level 6)
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of software asset management systems, discovery tools and licence management systems including the demonstrated ability to provide definitive and expert advice across these domains to a variety of stakeholders (SFIA: TECH level 5)
- Demonstrated advanced data analytics skills in interrogating large data sets and applying sound diagnostic and evaluation skills. (SFIA: INAN level 5).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team to contribute to creative and innovative solutions and continuously improve ways of working.
- Proven excellent negotiation, consultation, facilitation, and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex environment. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing).
- Proven ability to utilise up-to-date scripting languages (e.g. Power Query M-Code) to query and interpret large and complex datasets (e.g. HR, finance and licence/software usage) to deliver software licencing related outcomes including scenario modelling and effective licence positions. (SFIA: PROG level 4)
