Fitness Passport (discounted gym memberships) Animal Emergency Service (AES) Canberra are seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Nurse to join our quick-paced after-hours emergency hospital. This is a hands-on clinical leadership role suited to an experienced ECC nurse ready to step into greater responsibility and career progression, whilst still remaining involved in clinical shifts.

The Senior Veterinary

Nurse combines advanced clinical nursing with shift leadership, team mentorship and operational support. They supervise hospital operations during shifts, support critical care cases, guide nursing staff and contribute to maintaining high clinical and cultural standards. As this is an after-hours emergency hospital, availability for nights, weekends and public holidays is essential.

Key Responsibilities Lead and support the nursing team during shifts

Operate autonomously with complex emergency and critical care cases

Assist with workflow coordination and shift management

Demonstrating flexibility and a team first mindset across both clinical and administrative shifts Contribute to policy, training and continuous improvement initiatives





Promote positive team culture and AES Core Values About You Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology

Minimum 3+ years’ nursing experience with leadership exposure

Strong ECC skills and confidence in critical care

Excellent communication and teamwork

Resilient, adaptable and solutions-focused What We Offer Permanent part-time role working minimum 60 hrs/fortnight

Starting rate from $37.23 per hour + Super + penalty rates
