Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced FRACS-qualified General Surgeon to lead one of Queensland's largest regional surgical services as Clinical Director of Surgery at Rockhampton Hospital.
This is an outstanding opportunity to combine executive leadership with an active clinical practice, shaping the future of surgical services across Central Queensland while mentoring the next generation of surgeons and driving innovation, education and research.
The Chance As Clinical Director of Surgery, you will provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership for a busy accredited surgical department while maintaining a minimum 0.5 FTE clinical practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading the strategic direction and ongoing development of Surgical Services
- Providing expert General Surgical care within a modern regional referral hospital
- Driving clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Leading workforce planning, recruitment and departmental performance
- Supervising and mentoring surgical trainees, junior medical staff and medical students
- Supporting research, innovation and education across the department
- Working collaboratively with executive leadership and multidisciplinary teams
- Promoting a positive culture focused on excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement

Requirements

- MBBS or equivalent
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery
- Specialist Registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA
- Demonstrated leadership experience within Surgical Services
- Commitment to education, mentoring and research
- Accredited endoscopic skills (highly desirable)
- Strong clinical governance and service improvement experience
