Recruitment Select are seeking a dedicated Labelling Operator to join a large and reputable company based in Nagambie. This is a full-time casual position offering long-term opportunity. This role involves working day shift for an initial 2-3 month period, followed by a transition to afternoon shift.
Role Overview
As a Labelling Operator, you will be responsible for the effective operation of high-speed labelling and packaging lines. This includes managing label rolls, adjusting machine settings, and carrying out quality assurance checks to ensure consistent product standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain inline labelling equipment to ensure optimal performance while preventing damage to bottles or labels.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor label placement, alignment, orientation, and barcode legibility. Perform routine checks on glue systems and carton printing (inkjet/sticker).
- Line Maintenance: Troubleshoot minor issues, clear jams,
and carry out routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of labelling heads and conveyors.
- Inventory Handling: Work closely with the warehouse supervisor to ensure correct label reels, foils, and packaging materials are loaded and available.
- Compliance: Strictly follow WHS (Work Health & Safety), QA/QC standards, and food safety regulations at all times.
Selection Criteria
- Previous experience operating automated labelling or packaging machinery (wine or beverage industry experience highly regarded).
- Strong attention to detail and sound mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to operate touchscreen control systems.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing manual handling tasks.
