Strathfield Family Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis . Based in Strathfield, this role is pivotal to the smooth operation of our medical practice. As a receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for our patients, managing critical administrative functions that directly impact patient experience and practice efficiency.

The practice is accredited with AGPAL and maintains a high standard of care. We have a nurse and pathology on site and allied health service are provided for our patients. An immediate start is available to the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

Managing front desk operations, including greeting patients and scheduling appointments in a professional and compassionate manner

Handling patient inquiries via telephone, email and in-person with efficiency and courtesy

Processing patient registrations, collecting necessary documentation and ensuring data accuracy in medical records systems

Managing patient billing, invoicing and payment processing whilst maintaining confidentiality and accuracy

Managing correspondence, documentation and administrative tasks with attention to detail and compliance with privacy regulations

Maintaining a welcoming, organised and clean reception environment that reflects the professionalism of the practice

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical or healthcare reception environment

Strong proficiency with medical practice management software

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment





Outstanding communication and excellent customer service

Knowledge of billing procedures and healthcare privacy regulations (such as confidentiality requirements)

Professional demeanour with a calm, friendly disposition and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
