About the Role

This is a predominantly solo, self-managed role running our sheet metal cutting and folding workshop. You'll operate independently to program and run our CNC laser and CNC press brake, cut and fold components to support the wider trailer manufacturing factory, and build sheet metal items such as toolboxes, cages, and frames from start to finish. You'll take ownership of your own workflow — scheduling cutting and folding jobs to keep the factory supplied with the components it needs, when it needs them.

This role suits someone who's comfortable working autonomously, managing their own priorities, and taking full responsibility for the quality and flow of work coming out of their section.

Key Responsibilities

- Program and operate CNC laser cutting and CNC press brake equipment
- Cut and fold sheet metal components to support ongoing trailer production
- Build sheet metal items including toolboxes, cages, and frames from drawings through to completion
- Read, interpret, and where required draw up components using AutoCAD
- Plan and schedule your own cutting and folding workflow to meet factory production needs
- Load, unload,



and move materials and finished components using a forklift
- Conduct quality checks on cut and folded components before handover
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workshop area
- Liaise with production and engineering on job priorities, drawing queries, or scheduling conflicts

What You'll Bring

Essential

- Trade qualification in Fabrication, Boilermaking, or Sheet Metal (or equivalent extensive experience)
- Strong sheet metal fabrication experience, including folding and forming
- Hands-on experience programming and operating a CNC laser cutter
- Hands-on experience programming and operating a CNC press brake
- AutoCAD experience
- Current forklift licence
- MIG and TIG welding experience
- Ability to work autonomously, manage your own workflow, and self-schedule priorities
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- A safety-first mindset

Desirable

- Experience in trailer, truck body, or heavy vehicle manufacturing
- Experience with ironworkers, cold saws, or general workshop machinery
