About the Role
The Civil Technician supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of on-street parking infrastructure, including parking meters, signage, and related civil works. Working as part of a team, this role assists with day-to-day field activities across Council sites, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.

This is a hands-on, casual, entry-level prospect suited to someone looking to build practical skills in civil works and field services.

Installing parking meters, including basic excavation and concreting of footing

Civil works such as coring, drilling, backfilling, and surface reinstatement

Install and replace sign poles, parking signs, and street furniture

Line marking activities, including site preparation and application

Maintenance & Repairs

Routine maintenance and basic repairs of parking meters and civil assets

Repair or replacing damaged poles, signs, and related infrastructure





Help identify issues in the field and carry out minor repairs

Record completed work, including photos and basic documentation

Safety & Compliance

Follow all WHS requirements and safe work practices

Setting up worksites and basic traffic control measures

Safely use tools and equipment under supervision

Follow Council standards, drawings, and instructions provided by supervisors

Teamwork & Communication

Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and contractors onsite

Communicate any issues or delays to the team leader or supervisor

Maintain simple and accurate records using company systems
