The Melbourne Medical School invites Expressions of Interest for appointment as the Sir Hugh Devine Chair of Surgery, a prestigious academic leadership position based at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

Established in honour of Sir Hugh Devine, one of Australia's most influential surgeons and pioneers of up-to-date surgical practice, the Chair recognises distinguished academic leadership and a commitment to advancing surgical research, education, and collaboration at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

About the Sir Hugh Devine Chair The Sir Hugh Devine Chair will:

- Provide strategic academic leadership for surgery at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

- Advance excellence in surgical research, education and innovation.

- Foster collaboration across the University, St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and partner organisations.





- Contribute to the strategic direction and academic priorities of the Department of Surgery.

- Represent the University and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne through national and international academic engagement.

The appointment is 0.2 FTE for an initial 12-month fixed-term appointment.

Application Criteria

- Salaried or honorary appointment within the University of Melbourne Department of Surgery.

- Current clinical appointment with St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

- Eligibility for appointment as a Level E Professor/Level D Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne.
