An exciting opportunity is available for an accomplished Financial Controller to join a rapidly growing and evolving organisation.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the corporate finance function and ensure the integrity, timeliness and commercial value of financial information across the business. You will oversee financial control, statutory and regulatory reporting, transactional accounting, payroll, treasury and balance sheet management.

The FC will be expected to modernise the finance function, introduce greater automation and data-driven controls, and help the organisation make better and faster commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the month-end close, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation processes
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of financial reporting
- Prepare insightful financial reporting for the Board, CEO and Executive Team
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting processes
- Manage statutory accounts, external audits and regulatory compliance
- Oversee tax-effect accounting, tax lodgements and ASIC reporting
- Lead the consolidation of multiple entities
- Strengthen internal controls, approval frameworks and segregation of duties
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and collections
- Review and enhance treasury activities, including debt management
- Lead grant accounting, management and reporting
- Support due diligence and M&A; activity when required
- Develop reporting dashboards that clearly communicate business performance, risks and commercial trade-offs
- Introduce automation,



AI-enabled tools and contemporary finance technologies
- Partner with senior leaders to translate financial information into meaningful business insights
- Lead, develop and performance manage a multi-functional finance team

About You

The ideal candidate will have commenced their career within a Big Four accounting firm, completed their CA qualification, and gained at least five years of commercial experience after leaving professional practice.

You will bring:

- Robust technical accounting, financial control and statutory reporting expertise
- Demonstrated people leadership and team-development capability
- Experience improving finance systems, processes and internal controls
- An interest in automation, AI and technology-enabled finance transformation
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- A commercial mindset and the confidence to constructively challenge senior leaders
