Our client is an established Microsoft Dynamics partner delivering D365 Finance & Operations implementations across the manufacturing sector. With a strong pipeline of end-to-end transformation and rollout projects, they're growing their F&O; practice and adding a Solution Architect to lead design on complex, manufacturing-heavy engagements.
You’ll own solution design across the D365 F&O; manufacturing modules, from discovery and fit-gap through to blueprint, build oversight, and go-live. You’ll work directly with client stakeholders (Ops, Supply Chain, Finance) to translate manufacturing processes into scalable F&O; solutions, and provide technical direction to functional consultants and developers through delivery.
Key Resonsibilities:
Lead solution architecture and design across D365 F&O; engagements, with a primary focus on Production Control, Master Planning, and Product Information Management.
Run fit-gap analysis and process mapping across discrete, process, and lean manufacturing operations.
Design end-to-end solutions spanning BOM/routes, formulas, capacity planning, shop floor execution, and quality management.
Own the solution blueprint and functional design documents; sign off on build against design intent.
Provide technical leadership to functional consultants, developers, and BAs across the project team.
Act as the primary point of escalation for solution design decisions with client stakeholders.
Support pre-sales activity - scoping, estimation, and solution demonstrations.
Advise on integration points with WMS,
IoT/shop floor systems, EDI, and third-party SCM tools where relevant.
Manufacturing Process Coverage:
Production types: discrete, process, and lean manufacturing.
Master planning and finite/infinite capacity scheduling.
Bills of materials, formulas, and routes (including co-/by-product handling).
Shop floor control, job cards, and manufacturing execution.
Quality management and inspection processes.
Cost accounting - standard, actual, and variance analysis in a manufacturing context.
Warehouse and inventory integration for manufacturing supply chains.
Key Requirements:
5+ years' D365 F&O; consulting experience, with at least 2 full lifecycle implementations at Solution Architect level
Deep functional expertise across Production Control, Master Planning, and PIM
Proven experience designing solutions for manufacturing clients — discrete, process, or mixed-mode
Solid stakeholder management — comfortable running workshops and presenting design decisions to senior client sponsors
Experience working within a Microsoft partner or SI delivery environment
Working knowledge of Sure Step, Success by Design, or equivalent Microsoft delivery methodology
Bonus Skillset
Exposure to Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate) for manufacturing reporting and workflow
Experience with IoT/MES integrations for shop floor data capture
Prior SAP or other ERP manufacturing background
Experience across F&B;, industrial, or heavy manufacturing verticals
