Help build and support life-critical technology that protects lives at sea and in the air. Your expertise will power NEXUS, Australia's mission-critical search and rescue platform, enabling emergency response teams to coordinate rescue operations and respond to pollution incidents when every second counts.
Working Arrangement: Hybrid with regular work from home available following onboarding
Contract: 12 Months + 2 x 12 Month Extension Options
Security Clearance: Must hold or be able to obtain Baseline
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications supporting NEXUS
- Build and enhance cloud-based backend services using AWS technologies
- Design Oracle database solutions, data models and stored procedures
- Develop and maintain REST and SOAP integrations using enterprise standards
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, Git and related DevOps tooling
- Develop and maintain web interfaces using ReactJS, HTML and CSS
- Implement automated testing and ensure software quality across the platform
- Produce detailed technical documentation and solution designs
- Participate in an on-call support roster for Australia's critical maritime safety platform
What You'll Bring:
- Robust expertise with Spring Boot, REST APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON and enterprise integration
- Hands-on AWS development experience including EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS and CloudFormation
- Strong Oracle database development and data modelling skills
- Experience working with Linux, Unix and Bash scripting
- Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing and modern software engineering practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in highly technical teams
- A commitment to delivering secure, robust and maintainable software solutions
