About the role

- Provide specialist trauma-informed social work support to adults experiencing violence, abuse and neglect, promoting safety, recovery and improved health outcomes through evidence-based practice
- Deliver comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments, crisis intervention, therapeutic counselling, safety planning, advocacy and care coordination for people impacted by domestic and family violence
- Provide expert consultation, education and capacity building to clinical teams across St Vincent's Health Network Sydney, strengthening responses to violence, abuse and neglect in accordance with policy, legislation and best practice
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to coordinate care, support safe discharge planning and promote continuity of care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings
- Contribute to the advancement of social work practice through clinical supervision, education, research, quality improvement initiatives and participation in broader departmental activities

About you

- Hold a degree in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with a minimum of 3 years' demonstrated clinical experience in Domestic and Family Violence




- Demonstrated experience providing trauma and violence-informed therapeutic counselling, psychosocial and risk assessments, safety planning, advocacy, psychoeducation and report writing for people experiencing domestic and family violence
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level Violence, Abuse and Neglect consultation and build effective relationships with multidisciplinary clinical teams across a complex health service environment
- Ability to lead and contribute to research, quality improvement, projects and education initiatives, including evaluation and reporting of outcomes, with experience providing clinical supervision to students and staff
- Willingness to participate in the after-hours on-call crisis social work service as required
