Solar Supply & Inventory Coordinator
National Solar Operations | Full Time | Remote — Canberra Preferred
STAG Electrical is a rapidly growing national solar and battery installation company completing more than 100 residential installations each month across Australia.
We are seeking an experienced Solar Supply & Inventory Coordinator to take ownership of purchasing, job materials and inventory across our national contractor network.
This is not a general warehouse position. We need someone who understands solar, battery or electrical equipment and can ensure the correct materials are ordered, allocated and available before installation day.
Experience working in solar or electrical wholesaling would be a strong advantage.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Placing and managing solar and electrical supplier orders nationally
- Preparing and issuing job-specific pick lists
- Checking equipment and materials against approved bills of materials
- Verifying supplier picks before contractor collection
- Coordinating contractor collections and supplier deliveries
- Tracking stock held with wholesalers, contractors, vans and storage locations
- Completing and reconciling weekly stocktakes of all major solar and battery components
- Monitoring minimum stock levels and reorder points
- Forecasting equipment requirements against the installation pipeline
- Allocating stock to confirmed installations
- Identifying missing, incorrect or duplicated material orders before installation day
- Tracking aged, excess and unallocated stock
- Resolving supplier shortages, picking errors and delivery issues
- Assisting with warranty and replacement stock coordination
- Improving purchasing, receipting and inventory-control processes
- Protecting installation dates from preventable material delays
You will work closely with Scheduling, Technical Support, Install Coordinators, suppliers, contractors and company leadership.
What Success Looks Like
- Installations are not delayed because of preventable material issues
- Pick lists and bills of materials are accurate
- Contractors receive the correct equipment before installation day
- Major stock quantities are visible and reconciled weekly
- Stock held across wholesalers, contractors, vans and storage locations is accurately tracked
- Supplier errors are identified and resolved quickly
- Purchasing aligns with the confirmed installation pipeline
- Excess and aged stock are reduced
- The wider operations team is not required to constantly chase materials
- Clear ownership is maintained from ordering through to contractor collection or delivery
About You
Experience in solar or electrical wholesaling would be a strong advantage.
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in one or more of the following:
- Solar or electrical wholesale
- Solar and battery equipment purchasing
- Inventory and stock control
- Solar installation operations
- Electrical procurement or material coordination
- Managing stock across multiple branches, contractors or locations
- Preparing pick lists or bills of materials
- Coordinating supplier orders and contractor collections
You should also be
- Highly organised and process-driven
- Confident working with product codes, model numbers and bills of materials
- Strong with spreadsheets and inventory-management systems
- Comfortable dealing directly with suppliers, contractors and installation teams
- Able to manage competing installation deadlines
- Detail-focused and willing to investigate discrepancies
- Capable of taking ownership without constant direction
- Confident following up suppliers and resolving problems quickly
- Comfortable working in a rapid-growing and changing environment
Direct solar industry experience will be strongly prioritised. However, applicants with strong electrical wholesaling experience and the ability to quickly learn solar and battery products will also be considered.
General inventory or procurement experience without exposure to solar, electrical, trade or construction materials is unlikely to be sufficient for this role.
Location
This is a remote role available to suitable applicants anywhere in Australia.
Applicants based in Canberra or the surrounding region will be viewed favourably, as proximity to our leadership and operations team may provide an advantage as the role develops.
However, location will not outweigh relevant industry experience, capability and the ability to take ownership of the position.
Why Join STAG Electrical?
- Join a national solar and battery business in a significant growth phase
- Take genuine ownership of a business-critical function
- Work directly with operational leadership
- Help build and improve our national supply and inventory systems
- Influence installation performance and customer outcomes
- Work remotely with a national team
- Build a long-term career as the company continues to scale
To Apply
Please submit your resume and a short cover letter answering the following:
1. What experience do you have working with solar, battery or electrical equipment?
2. Have you worked in solar or electrical wholesaling?
3. Have you previously managed purchasing, stock or job materials across multiple installers or locations?
4. Describe a material, supplier or inventory problem you identified and resolved.
