Role Description The Data Architect will design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architecture to support robust analytics, reporting, and operational needs. In this contract, hybrid role based in Sydney, NSW, the Data Architect will collaborate with stakeholders to define data standards, lead data modeling efforts, and guide the implementation of data governance practices, with some work from home flexibility.
Day-to-day responsibilities include designing data warehouse solutions, overseeing ETL processes, optimizing data flows, and ensuring data quality and integrity across systems. The role also involves working closely with engineering,
analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions and providing guidance on best practices for data management.
Qualifications
- Strong Data Architecture skills, including designing scalable, secure, and performant data solutions.
- Experience with Data Modeling and Data Warehousing to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools for integrating data from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of Data Governance practices, including data quality, metadata management, and compliance.
- Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, and familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into data designs.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and data integrity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in ICT or related industries and prior work in hybrid or distributed teams is beneficial.
