We're partnering with a leading organisation in the energy sector to recruit a highly experienced Solution Architect for an initial 12-month engagement. This is a key role working on business-critical digital systems, where you'll help shape the architecture of bespoke applications supporting operational technology and market systems.

We're looking for a hands-on architect who enjoys working closely with development teams and can bridge high-level architecture with detailed technical design.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and deliver solution architecture for complex, on-premise bespoke applications.
- Work closely with Technical Leads and Senior Developers to translate architecture into detailed solution designs.
- Contribute to and review detailed design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Architect secure applications, ensuring solutions align with modern application security standards.
- Design solutions that support fully automated application deployment.
- Provide architectural guidance across integration, application design and delivery activities.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure architecture is implemented effectively and consistently.
- Support systems that interface with Operational Technology (OT) environments and critical business applications.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- Extensive experience as a Solution Architect working with complex, bespoke, on-premise applications.




- Strong experience designing secure application architectures in line with modern security standards.
- Proven ability to work closely with Technical Leads and Senior Developers throughout design and delivery.
- Experience translating high-level architecture into detailed technical designs and documentation.
- Experience working with Operational Technology (OT) systems or applications that interface with OT environments.
- Previous experience within the energy, utilities or critical infrastructure sector.
- Solid understanding of application environments built on:
- .NET
- SQL Server
- REST APIs
- RabbitMQ

- Experience designing architectures that support fully automated deployment and modern delivery practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across architecture, development and delivery teams.
