Russ Environmental is a leading manufacturer of specialised heavy vehicles and equipment. With more than 60 years of engineering excellence, we design and manufacture premium waste and industrial vehicles for customers throughout Australia and overseas.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Fitter / Mechanical Technician to join our Brisbane manufacturing team.

This is a hands-on role working on brand-new heavy vehicles—not repetitive repair work. You'll be involved in building and commissioning industry-leading equipment using the latest hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical technologies.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

- Assembly and installation of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
- Fitting heavy vehicle components and specialised equipment
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults during production
- Commissioning new vehicles prior to customer delivery
- Reading engineering drawings and following build specifications
- Working closely with fabrication, electrical and engineering teams
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety

What We're Looking For

Ideally you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or similar
- Experience with heavy vehicles,



mobile plant or industrial equipment
- Hydraulic experience (highly regarded)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Current driver's licence
- HR Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Forklift licence (advantageous)Basic computer skills

Working Hours

The position is primarily based in our Acacia Ridge manufacturing facility. Occasional weekend work may be required to support preventative maintenance or customer commissioning.
