Graphic Designer

Cairns or Townsville | Full-Time Opportunity | 6 Months with possible extension

Are you a creative designer who thrives on turning complex information into engaging visual content?

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to join a dynamic communications team, delivering high-quality creative solutions that inform, inspire and connect with stakeholders and communities across North Queensland.

Based in either Cairns or Townsville, this role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of print, digital, video and online projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position is office-based, with flexible work arrangements available following an initial probation period.

As Graphic Designer, you'll be responsible for developing compelling visual communications that support stakeholder engagement and community-focused initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Designing and producing a broad range of communication materials including brochures, publications, presentations, social media assets, digital advertising, displays and video content
- Translating complex information into clear, engaging and accessible visual solutions
- Providing expert advice on design, branding and digital communications
- Managing multiple projects and competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external creative suppliers
- Ensuring all creative outputs align with brand standards and accessibility requirements




- Contributing to continuous improvement of visual communication processes and services

About You

- Proven graphic design experience within a corporate, government or large organisational environment
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- Experience creating content across print, digital and video platforms
- Strong understanding of branding and visual communication principles
- Excellent organisation, time management and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality creative work
- Knowledge of accessibility requirements, including accessible PDFs and Word documents

Highly Regarded

- Five or more years' experience in graphic design, visual communication or creative design
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design or a related discipline
- Experience working within government or highly regulated environments
