An outstanding opportunity exists for a New Zealand qualified litigation lawyer to relocate to Melbourne and join a high performing General Insurance practice within a leading Australian national law firm. This is a genuine career step into a larger and more sophisticated insurance litigation market, offering exposure to high value, multi party disputes and complex insurer led matters.
You will join a nationally recognised insurance practice acting for leading insurers, underwriters, and corporate insureds across Australia.
The Work
You will work across a broad insurance litigation practice, including:
- Public liability and casualty claims
- Professional indemnity disputes
- Product liability matters
- Property damage and third party claims
- Statutory liability and workers compensation matters
- Coverage and indemnity advice
The work spans both defence litigation and coverage advisory, with exposure to complex, high value disputes.
What You Will Do
- Run your own litigated files with supervision from senior lawyers and Partners
- Draft coverage, liability, and indemnity advices
- Manage disputes through litigation, mediation, and resolution pathways
- Engage directly with insurer and corporate clients
- Contribute to client relationships and practice development initiatives
What We Are Looking For
- 3 to 5 years PQE in civil litigation, insurance experience advantageous but not required
- Strong drafting and legal analysis skills
- Confident client facing communication style
- Ability to manage an autonomous file load
- New Zealand qualified lawyers strongly encouraged to apply
