About The Role As the nation's energy market operator, we take our cyber security responsibilities very seriously. The cyber security team's vision is that AEMO has an embedded cyber safety culture that everyone understands, supports and lives day-to-day. AEMO’s systems and processes are designed and operated so that the easy way to do things is the secure way.

AEMO is a recognised leader and exemplar of effective cyber security within the energy sector domestically and internationally. The Australian energy sector is prepared for and resilient to foreseeable cyber threats. In this role you will lead work to identify, assess and communicate emerging cyber security resilience risks affecting the Australian energy sector.

You will support the Manager Energy Market Cyber Coordination in delivering relevant energy market sector initiatives and provide robust analysis and advice on regulatory, technical and operational approaches for risk mitigation and management. To achieve this you will work with Energy market participants,



the broader Australian critical infrastructure sector, government agencies and internal AEMO stakeholders to identify sector requirements, operating patterns, dependencies and modes of operation. This is a 24-month Fixed Term Contract and its location is adaptable.

Please note that to be eligible for this role you require Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.

What You Will Be Doing

Supporting sector and regulatory requirements associated with the implementation of CI-Fortify, including analysis of practical, proportionate and implementable approaches. Engage, facilitate, and coordinate activities involving market participants, government agencies, technical specialists and internal AEMO stakeholders to identify requirements, patterns, dependencies and required operational procedures, and translate these into practical recommendations. Assess and advise on updates to cyber incident response plans, the Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework, and related sector resilience arrangements.

Contribute to AEMO submissions and advice on proposed changes to Security of Critical Infrastructure Act obligations and other relevant regulatory or policy consultations What You Will Bring To The Role Advanced tertiary qualifications in cyber security, computer science, engineering, energy systems,



architecture or a related technology field. Significant experience across cyber security, technology resilience, security architecture, critical infrastructure and energy-sector or similar critical infrastructure operations. Demonstrable experience identifying and assessing complex or emerging cyber security resilience risks and developing evidence-based advice.

Demonstrable experience applying cyber security frameworks, security architecture principles and regulatory requirements in critical infrastructure environments.
