With multiple operating entities and continued business growth, we are strengthening our finance capability and are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to help lead our accounting function.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is an opportunity to become a trusted financial partner within a progressive manufacturing business where your contribution will extend well beyond producing financial reports.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on Senior Accountant role responsible for the integrity of the Company's financial records, month-end reporting, statutory compliance and financial controls across multiple business entities.
Working closely with the Finance Officer and operational leaders, you will ensure the finance function operates efficiently while providing timely financial information to support sound business decisions.
You'll also play an important role in improving systems, strengthening financial processes and helping build a finance function that supports the future growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete monthly financial reporting across multiple entities
- Manage month-end close, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Prepare BAS and oversee statutory compliance
- Support payroll oversight and compliance
- Monitor cash flow, debtors and creditors
- Assist with inventory accounting and product costing
- Work across SAP Business One, Xero and legacy finance systems
- Partner with operational teams to improve financial accuracy
- Liaise with external accountants and advisors
- Support continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
- Provide guidance and support to the Finance Officer
About You
You are a practical and commercially minded accountant who enjoys taking ownership and improving the way finance supports a business.
You will ideally bring:
- CA qualification (preferred) or CPA qualification
- Minimum five years' experience in a hands-on accounting role
- Strong month-end reporting and reconciliation capability
- Manufacturing or product-based industry experience
- Experience working across multiple business entities
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- ERP experience (SAP Business One highly regarded)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
