About Opportunity

Join Hunter New England Local Health District as a Trust Fund Administrator and become part of a small, highly supportive team within the wider Corporate Finance function. Reporting directly to the Manager of Financial Accounting and Reporting, you will work alongside an experienced colleague who will provide comprehensive training and ongoing support, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop specialist knowledge in a unique area of health administration. Based in Waratah, you'll enjoy free onsite parking and convenient access to local shops and amenities. This role offers exposure to senior medical staff, accountants and finance professionals across the district, providing a varied and rewarding career path.

About The Role

As the Trust Fund Administrator, you will play a key role in administering Staff Specialist Rights of Private Practice and their Training, Education and Study Leave (TESL) entitlements). You will be responsible for managing TESL claims, calculating and reconciling clinician entitlements, administering restricted fund accounts, preparing financial reconciliations, and coordinating tax-related documentation with clinicians and accountants. The role also provides expert advice and support to medical specialists, finance teams and key stakeholders across Hunter New England Health, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, awards and legislative requirements while maintaining accurate and efficient financial processes.

About You

You are a highly organised professional with strong financial literacy and exceptional attention to detail. While a finance background is advantageous, it is not essential what matters most is your ability to interpret policies and procedures,



apply critical thinking, and make well-reasoned decisions. You are confident explaining your rationale to a range of stakeholders and can build positive working relationships with professionals from diverse backgrounds, including medical specialists, accountants and managers. With excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage competing priorities, you thrive in an environment where accuracy, problem-solving and customer service are key to success.
