About the Role: The Executive Assistant is responsible for providing efficient confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Co-management Boards and Advisory Committees in the District. The role will also be responsible for coordinating travel, accommodation, sitting fee payments and venue arrangements for Board Members within required timeframes.

Contract: Contract for up to 3 September 2027 Part-time 18.75 hours a week.
Is able to accurately, clearly and concisely compose documents such as letters, memos and record minutes.

Proficiency and accuracy in the use of the Microsoft suite of software applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
A current Class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd.
Demonstrates a good understanding of issues facing the region’s Aboriginal communities, their cultural interests,
support networks and protocols and an ability to communicate sensitively with people from these communities.
Displays highly developed administrative support skills to provide executive support to a Board/Committee Chairperson and perform daily administrative work.
Broad understanding of Ministerial, Cabinet, Parliamentary and legislative processes as they apply to Government agencies.
Is able to relate confidently to people at all levels in an organisation and work with networks to get things done.
Is able to convey services and purpose of work area to internal and external customers in a clear and respectful manner.
Special Conditions:
Will be required to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
The position will require some work outside of normal hours. This will include intrastate travel involving remote travel within the region necessitating overnight stays on occasions which may involve camping and travel in light aircraft.
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia.
Wearing a company uniform during working hours and/or when representing the department is mandatory.
Demonstrates ability to work alone and be self-reliant.
This role requires candidates to provide a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check which must be renewed every three years before expiry. DEW will cover the cost of renewal.
A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within the last 12 months. This information must be supplied by all applicants who are shortlisted for interview.
Remuneration: ASO3 $74,095 min - $78,694 max p.a., pro rata for part time hours.
