About the role
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join Custom Edge Roofing as a Roof Plumbing Apprentice in Geelong, VIC. This is a full-time apprenticeship position that offers an excellent opportunity to learn roof plumbing skills from experienced professionals in a supportive and dynamic work environment. As an apprentice, you will work alongside qualified roof plumbers, gaining hands-on experience whilst completing the required formal training qualifications. This role is fundamental to our operations, as roof plumbing is essential to protecting buildings and ensuring the longevity of roofing systems.
What you'll be doing
Assisting experienced roof plumbers with the installation of roof plumbing systems.
Learning and applying safe working practices, including the correct use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) at heights
Preparing work sites,
gathering materials, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available before commencing tasks
Performing basic metalwork tasks such as cutting, bending, and joining materials under supervision
Installing and fitting roof plumbing components to specifications and building codes
Cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements
Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure work progresses smoothly
Attending formal training classes and completing coursework as part of your apprenticeship qualification
Developing knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices
Contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement on all job sites
What we're looking for
A genuine interest in roof plumbing and the plumbing industry with a desire to develop practical skills
Robust work ethic, reliability, and commitment to completing the apprenticeship qualification
Ability to work safely at heights and a willingness to follow all safety protocols and procedures
Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and installations
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions from experienced supervisors
A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople
Valid driver's licence or reliable transport to the Geelong work location
Relevant pre-apprenticeship training or Year 10 completion (or equivalent) is advantageous, but not a requirement
