Hrishi Digital Solutions is sourcing an experienced Senior Business Analyst for a 12 month contract with the Northern Territory Government in Darwin. The role sits across the various programs and projects delivered by DPS within the Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD).
We are an approved supplier on the NT Government DCDD panel and place contractors into government agency engagements across the Territory. This is a contract placement, not an internal hire.
About the role
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for a full range of business analysis tasks: requirements planning and management, requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation, and capturing existing business processes and proposed changes.
You will support the relevant Project Manager in executing the project approach and associated plan, working alongside the business, project team members and vendors.
This is a hands on delivery role in a complex, high priority government environment. You will move between workshops, documentation, walkthroughs and testing support, often across more than one project at a time.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and focus groups with stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements, and manage requirements traceability
- Conduct walkthroughs to validate and obtain approval of business analysis outputs
- Provide business analysis support relevant to the provision of requirements support and clarification throughout a full project development or implementation lifecycle
- Undertake and support testing activities, including preparing and executing test plans and test cases
- Apply business analysis techniques and tools to document requirements, objectives, outcomes, processes, procedures, work instructions and workflows
- Deliver project documentation in alignment with DPS project management frameworks, on time and to expected quality standards as per scope and as agreed with the Project Manager
- Manage sensitive information and maintain records in line with information management policies
- Contribute to and add value across the various programs and projects delivered by DPS
Essential skills and experience
- Minimum 6+ years experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst, including requirements gathering, business process analysis and modelling, process mapping, information analysis and modelling, planning, design, testing and system integration using industry standard techniques in a complex business environment
- Experience mapping business requirements and processes to the functionality of a product while identifying gaps and opportunities
- High level analytical and organisational skills with good attention to detail and the ability to think laterally and conceptually
- Highly effective client liaison, change management and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative environment with high performing teams on high priority deliverables under tight timeframes, balancing competing priorities
- Experience in software integration analysis and delivery support of these areas
Desirable
- Experience with the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0 standard or similar
- Experience working in a government setting
- Background in finance projects

Eligibility and location
- The position is based in Darwin, NT. Candidates currently located interstate must be willing and able to relocate to Darwin for the duration of the contract
- You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with valid work rights. No visa sponsorship is offered for this role
- A current National Police Clearance (NPC) is mandatory and must be supplied with your application
