Communications and Engagement Director

THE ORGANISATION
Our Ways Strong Together: National Peak Body for Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence is a newly established peak body dedicated to addressing family, domestic and sexual violence within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
THE ROLE
The Communication and Engagement Manager will lead the development and delivery of strategies that strengthen the organisation's profile, engage members and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
This role will oversee media, branding, digital platforms and member communications, delivering culturally safe and impactful messaging.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications and engagement strategies within a not-for-profit, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled or membership-based organisation.
- Strong understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and commitment to culturally secure practices.
- Proven ability to manage media relations, digital platforms and branding initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing publications and digital content.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building relationships across diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Requirements
- Qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations or related fields.
- Experience in political engagement and advocacy campaigns.
- Knowledge of digital analytics and content management systems.
