My client is a very well-respected national Tier two builder focused on delivering complex projects across the Data Centre, Health and Defence sectors up to the value of $500M due to business growth they are looking for a Pre-Construction Senior Project Engineer to join the business.
Reporting to the pre-construction manager this role will be hybrid Engineer and Design Manager role and will be responsible for working on design, buildability, value engineering and conversion of both tenders and ECI's. My client rarely open tender so this role will partner very closely with a number of blue clip clients in the early-stages of projects.
They are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer that has proven experience delivering commercial projects over $75 mil looking to move into a pre construction focused role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Pre Construction Manager with planning, scheduling, and budgeting
- Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for timely, cost-effective tender programs and value engineering solutions
- Manage Design Management process in conjunction with Design and Services Leads throughout bid and ECI process
- Prepare and maintain project documentation (schedules, contracts, change orders)
- Monitor progress and update managers on milestones and issues throughout ECI Processes
- Coordinate with team members to complete tasks on time and within budget
- Track expenses and provide regular updates to managers
- Identify and resolve issues, escalating to managers as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer on projects over $75 mil
- Proven experience working for a Tier 1 or 2 Builder within the Australian market
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in project engineering within the construction industry
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset
- Reliable references
- Experience working on commercial type projects within Australia
