Screen Printing Production Assistant

Heaps Good Print Shop is looking for someone to join our production team and learn the screen printing trade from the ground up.

You don’t need to have worked in a print shop before. We’re more interested in finding someone who is reliable, hands-on, has a good eye for detail and genuinely wants to learn screen printing.

This would be a great opportunity for someone interested in screen printing, clothing, streetwear, design, art, music or working with their hands who wants to turn that interest into a proper skill.

What you'll be doing

You'll work alongside an experienced screen printer and learn the entire production process, including:

- Preparing screens and jobs for production

- Loading and unloading garments on our automatic screen printing press

- Checking print quality throughout production

- Mixing inks and preparing colours

- Setting up and breaking down print jobs

- Reclaiming and cleaning screens

- Folding, counting and packing finished orders

- Keeping the print shop clean and organised

- Learning how to set up and eventually operate our automatic screen printing press

As your skills develop, there will be an opportunity to take on more responsibility and progress toward running print jobs yourself.

Who we're looking for

Experience isn't essential.





We're looking for someone who:

- Actually wants to learn screen printing

- Is reliable and turns up on time

- Has strong attention to detail

- Enjoys hands-on work

- Can follow processes and instructions

- Takes pride in producing quality work

- Doesn't mind getting their hands dirty

- Works well in a small team

- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Any previous experience with screen printing, apparel, printing, signwriting, warehousing, production, machinery, art or design would be a bonus, but it's not required.

About us

Heaps Valuable Print Shop is an independent screen printing shop on the Gold Coast producing custom apparel for brands, businesses, bands and creatives.

We're a small shop, so this isn't a job where you'll be stuck doing one repetitive task forever. The right person will get the opportunity to learn how a commercial screen printing shop actually operates and develop genuine production and printing skills.
