As the Senior Design Manager – Services, you will lead the building services design strategy across a portfolio of major developments, ensuring technical excellence from feasibility through to design completion. Acting as the client's technical representative, you'll provide leadership across all building services disciplines while managing external consultants to deliver coordinated, commercially sound and future-focused design outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the building services design strategy across multiple commercial, mixed-use and residential developments.
- Manage and coordinate external building services consultants across Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire, ICT, Security, Vertical Transport and ESD disciplines.
- Review and challenge engineering designs to ensure technical excellence, innovation, operational performance and value for money.
- Drive multidisciplinary design coordination between architectural, structural and building services consultants throughout the design process.
- Oversee consultant appointments, scopes of work, design programmes and consultant performance.
- Provide technical advice to development and project teams during feasibility, planning and design phases.
- Champion sustainability initiatives including Green Star, NABERS, energy efficiency and smart building technologies.
- Identify technical risks, resolve complex design issues and ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and authority requirements.

About You:




We're looking for an experienced building services design qualified who enjoys influencing design outcomes, managing consultant teams and providing technical leadership across complex developments.

You will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering / manager.
- Extensive experience in building services design, services engineering or client-side services design management across commercial, mixed-use or residential developments.
- Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire, ICT, Security, Vertical Transport and ESD building services.
- Proven experience managing external consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams throughout the design process.
- A sound understanding of design governance, consultant management, planning requirements and technical compliance.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience reviewing consultant scopes, programmes and design deliverables.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence consultants, developers and internal project teams.
