Mental Health Support Worker (Wollongong)
We are seeking experienced and reliable Mental Health Support Workers to join our team in Wollongong, supporting NDIS participants with complex mental health needs. If you are compassionate, proactive, and confident working with diverse behaviours and support requirements, we'd love to hear from you.
Shifts vary from Community Participation (CP) to SIL home settings.
Casual workers are welcome to apply.
Plenty of shifts and plenty of work are available for the right candidates, with adaptable rosters.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide person-centred support to participants with mental health and psychosocial needs
Support participants with community access, daily living skills, and capacity building
Manage complex or challenging behaviours with professionalism and care
Maintain high-quality progress notes and documentation
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Follow participant support plans, behaviour support strategies, and risk management procedures
About You
Minimum 2+ years mental health experience
Experience supporting participants with complex or challenging behaviours
Experience with participants from the judicial system is highly regarded
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, switched-on, and able to make sound decisions in agile situations
Requirements:
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
NDIS Modules: Worker Orientation Module, Induction Module, Supporting Secure & Enjoyable Meals Module
Valid Driver's Licence
Police Check
Infection Control Certificate
Must speak fluent English
Comprehensive Car Insurance and own vehicle
