Clarity Partners is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a privately owned Australian logistics organisation with more than 50 years of industry success.
In this role, you'll support the day-to-day accounting function, assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts processing and month-end activities. Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily accounting activities across the finance function
Prepare and maintain bank and general ledger reconciliations
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required
Assist with month-end journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
Help prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner
Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding finance-related queries
Contribute to process improvements that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of finance operations
Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures
About You
Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Experience with reconciliations, journals and month-end activities
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Relevant accounting qualifications or progress towards CPA or CA will be highly regarded
