Mama Earth & Co PTY Ltd t/a Yaman Mullumbimby. Yaman Mullumbimby is a Traditional Yemenite Food Restaurant looking to bring the flavours of Yemen and the Middle East to the biggest little town in Australia. Our passion for food and the love for the flavours of our ancestors is what make each dish extraordinary. We are using authentic handcrafted Yemenite traditional pastries, Middle Eastern spices, hand-picked fresh ingredients, free-range and local produce. Yaman Mullumbimby combines the tradition of Yemen and the Middle East with the vibe of Mullumbimby and the Byron Shire.
Currently we are seeking a full time (38hr/wk) Cook, you will be responsible for the following duties on a daily basis:
Assess and inspect produce to ensure top quality, and store food in proper temperature-controlled settings.
Operate various kitchen appliances, including ovens and grills, ensuring accurate adjustments and regulation.
Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to prepare and execute menu items.
Prepare dishes according to both standard menus and special event requirements.
Follow detailed instructions and work harmoniously with team members.
Season and portion food, present dishes for service, and add sauces or condiments as needed.
Accommodate special dietary requests and prepare food accordingly.
Assist in menu planning and forecasting food needs.
Manage tasks efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Potentially mentor and train other kitchen staff and apprentices.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certificate III in Cookery / Culinary Arts with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or
A minimum of 3 years of practical cooking experience.
Solid dedication to high-quality food and ingredients.
Flexibility to work a rotating weekly schedule.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
