As our Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:
Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
Managing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
Analysing financial performance and identifying trends and opportunities
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
Assisting with BAS, payroll tax, audits, and statutory reporting
Supporting childcare-specific funding processes, including CCS and Start Strong funding
Providing financial insights to Centre Managers and operational stakeholders
Contributing to business improvement initiatives, acquisitions, and strategic projects
Supporting finance system enhancements and process improvements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounting or Finance role
Previous childcare industry experience (desirable)
Understanding of Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and Start Solid funding
Experience with management reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close (desirable)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills
A proactive and hands-on approach to your work
Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field




Experience overseeing multi-sites
Experience using NetSuite software

CPA or CA qualifications (completed or in progress) will be highly regarded.

Essential Industry Experience

Due to the specialised nature of this role, applicants must have previous experience within the childcare industry and a practical understanding of:

Occupancy and utilisation reporting
Childcare fee structures and discounting
Government funding compliance and reporting
