Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineer (Developer) | Federal Government Contract | AMSA

We are seeking two experienced Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineers to join a federal government client, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) , supporting the development and maintenance of a life-critical maritime and aviation search & rescue application (NEXUS) .

This is an chance to work within a highly skilled engineering team delivering enterprise-scale Java, AWS, and Oracle solutions that support critical operational capabilities.

Key Requirements:
8+ years' experience in enterprise Java development (Java EE, Spring/Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate)
Solid experience with REST/SOAP APIs, XML/JSON, OpenAPI, and integration solutions




Solid Oracle database skills including data modelling and PL/SQL
Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins, CI/CD, Linux/Unix)
Ability to design and deliver complex software solutions at a senior/principal level
Principal Java/Bespoke Software Engineer (x2 positions)
Work on mission-critical technology supporting national search and rescue operations
