Summary:
As a Disability Support Worker in Victoria, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This temporary, casual position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who can provide support and assistance tailored to the unique needs of each client. Your contributions will be essential in promoting independence and ensuring a secure and supportive setting for those in your care.
Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities.
Develop and implement individualised support plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
Assist clients in accessing community resources and services to promote social inclusion.
Monitor and document clients' progress and any changes in their condition, reporting to relevant professionals as necessary.
Encourage and support clients in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Participate in training and career development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role within the social care sector.
Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Empathy and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and relevant legislation.
