Department & Location: Surgical Services Department, Mater Hospital, North Sydney.
Salary: 29.36 AUD base per hour.
Role Title: Theatre Assistant.
Role Type: Casual.
About The Role
Assisting theatre nursing staff by ensuring surgical procedures have required instruments, equipment, and consumables available.
Preparing, stocking and replenishing instrument trays and theatre supplies in a timely manner, escalating shortages to Nurse Unit Manager.
Supporting emergency procedures including cardiac arrest, fire responses and other disaster procedures.
Assisting nursing staff in updating and maintaining surgeon preference cards.
Demonstrating safe manual handling procedures concerning lifting and transferring patients, instruments and equipment.
About You
Previous experience in a health care facility.
Knowledge of safe manual handling practices and infection control standards.
Computer literacy and excellent interpersonal skills.
Organisational and time management skills.
