Jobwire is seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our client’s growing engineering team in Thomastown.

The Role
As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a Durma CNC Press Brake to manufacture precision sheet metal components. Working from engineering drawings and specifications, you’ll ensure every component meets strict quality and accuracy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate a Durma CNC press brake
Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and work orders
Select tooling and complete accurate machine setups
Produce precision folded sheet metal components to required tolerances
Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment
Troubleshoot basic machine and production issues
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop
Work closely with the production team to achieve daily targets
About You
Previous experience operating CNC press brakes (Durma experience highly regarded)
Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings
Robust attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
A reliable attitude and robust work ethic
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
