Associate - Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution (Canberra Role)

MV Law, a leading property and commercial law firm in Canberra, is seeking a 2-4 PQE Lawyer to join our growing litigation and disputes practice.
In this role, you will assist our clients with commercial, property and planning disputes.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career in an established practice, working with exceptional clients on interesting and challenging matters, while being supported by a highly collaborative and approachable team.
If successful, your responsibilities will include:
Management of your own files with support and supervision
Communicating directly with clients and relevant stakeholders
Conducting legal research and providing strategic advice on complex legal issues
Drafting correspondence, court documents and other litigation-related documents
Gathering, analysing and organising evidence
Preparing for and attending court appearances, mediations and hearings
Participating in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes
Assisting clients to resolve disputes in a practical, commercially focused manner
Skills & Experience
To be successful, the candidate would ideally have relevant experience in private practice and be able to demonstrate:
2-4 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution or a related area of practice
Strong research, analytical and drafting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
Ability to build strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client service
Sound commercial judgement and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A professional, proactive and positive approach to work
The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in dealing with sensitive matter.
