What you will do
As justice officer - property, you will support the safe and accurate management of prisoner property at Melbourne Assessment Prison.
You will provide property services, answer enquiries and help keep daily operations running smoothly in a secure environment.
You will:
provideaccurateproperty services and respond to visitor and prisoner enquiries
record, transfer and store prisoner property and valuables usingsecureelectronic and physical systems
maintainaccuraterecords, protect sensitive information and follow legislative and departmental requirements
operate the prison switchboard, answer calls and provideclearinformation about prison services
complete audits, support other corporate service functions and worksafelywith property weighing up to 15 kilograms.
About you
No formal qualifications are required for this role.
You should be comfortable working in a correctional environment with direct prisoner contact,



including weekends and public holidays.
You should also have:
strongcomputer skills and the ability to learn recent systems quickly
accuratedata entry and records management skills
soundknowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
resilience, teamwork, flexibility andprofessionalcommunication skills.
