Job Statement We are seeking an Emergency Response Coordinator to join our site Health and Safety team.
This is a permanent, full-time position at Leonora Operations on 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will ensure emergency management systems are implemented and maintained while providing expert emergency management advice and support to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel at the Operations.
The Opportunity
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential emergency scenarios and develop mitigation strategies.
Develop, implement, and regularly update emergency response plans, procedures and supporting documents as part of the Mine Safety Management System (MSMS).
Maintain and ensure readiness of emergency response equipment, appliances and facilities.
Conduct inspections and audits of emergency response equipment and processes, ensuring equipment registers are up to date at all times.
Ensure the Emergency Response Team (ERT) maintains an adequate number of members with on call capacity to meet operational requirements.
Lead and coordinate the ERT, ensuring high levels of preparedness, performance and capability through promotion, training and development.




Provide coaching and support to the ERT to enhance their skills and knowledge, fostering a high-performing and disciplined team.
Maintain operational emergency response systems including, but not limited to fire systems, lightning warning systems and alert/ evacuation systems.
Follow escalation processes and coordinate first response for emergency events.
Schedule and coordinate drills and simulations to test response capabilities and improve the effectiveness of emergency plans and procedures.
Ensure the Incident Management Team (IMT) is trained and prepared to lead management of emergency events.
Ensure rescue plans for high-risk activities are regularly reviewed.
Provide emergency and non-emergency assistance and medical care as required to the operations.
Monitor closeout of recommendations and actions resulting from emergency events and drills, incident investigations, inspections, audits and emergency response training.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with surrounding mining operations (for mutual aid), emergency services and the local Community.
Day to day oversight of security including resourcing and operational requirements.

We're excited to hear from you if you have:
Certificate IV Health Care (or equivalent).
Certificate III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue inclusive of BG4 Breathing Apparatus and Underground Search and Rescue.
Nationally recognised unit of competency – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing.
Experience as a Senior ERT Member or proven experience coordinating ERT activities.
Current Medium Rigid (MR) Licence.
Demonstrated experience in a similar position within the mining industry, including underground operations.
Working knowledge of The Work, Health & Safety Act **** (WHS Act), The Work, Health & Safety (General) Regulations ****(WHSGR) and The Work, Health & Safety (Mines) Regulations **** (WHMSR).
