Baird & McGregor Lawyers is seeking a Family Lawyer to join our growing Family Law team. We are open to applications from lawyers at all stages of their career, from recently admitted practitioners through to experienced family law solicitors.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of family law matters, including parenting disputes, property settlements, divorce proceedings, child support, intervention orders, and financial agreements. The level of responsibility, autonomy, mentoring and career development opportunities will be tailored to your experience and career goals.
You will work closely with our experienced legal team and have the opportunity to develop your advocacy, negotiation, and client management skills while contributing to meaningful outcomes for clients.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing practical and solution-focused legal advice to clients on a range of family law matters
Managing family law files with an appropriate level of supervision and support
Preparing and reviewing legal documents, including parenting plans, consent orders, affidavits, and financial agreements
Representing clients in mediations, negotiations, court events, and hearings
Briefing and liaising with counsel
Developing and maintaining solid client relationships
Working collaboratively with lawyers and support staff across the firm




Contributing to the growth and success of the Family Law practice
Keeping up to date with developments in family law legislation and practice
What We're Looking For
Admission as an Australian Lawyer with a current practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)
Experience in family law
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A client-focused approach and a genuine desire to help people through challenging circumstances
Good organisational and time management skills
Strong drafting, negotiation and problem-solving abilities
A willingness to learn, develop professionally and contribute to a cooperative team environment
