About The Role

TCWA's newest workshop - Phil's Recon Shop is looking for an experienced Panel Beater & Prepper to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about quality workmanship, take's pride in their attention to detail, and enjoys working in a skilled workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Repair damaged vehicle panels by removing dents, wrinkles, and deep scratches using specialist panel beating tools and equipment.Remove and replace damaged panels by unbolting, cutting, welding, or bonding new components to manufacturer specifications.Prepare repaired surfaces by sanding, applying body filler, shaping, and block sanding to restore factory contours.Apply primer-surfacer and corrosion-resistant coatings to bare metal and repaired areas.Mask and tape windows, trims,



and adjacent panels to protect against overspray during the refinishing process.Conduct final quality inspections to identify and rectify surface imperfections, pinholes, and uneven panel contours before painting.Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop while following all workplace health and safety procedures.Work efficiently with the workshop team to ensure vehicles move smoothly through the repair and preparation process.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or an equivalent trade qualification (preferred).2â5 years' experience in a smash repair or collision repair workshop.Strong knowledge of panel beating body filler application, sanding techniques, guide coats, and primer preparation.Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify even the smallest imperfections.Excellent time management skills and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality work.A reliable, positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
