Role Description The Senior Cellar Door Operations Manager is a full-time, in office role based at Grove Estate Wines in Young, NSW. This role oversees all aspects of cellar door operations, including managing daily service, coordinating staffing and rosters, and ensuring guests receive consistently high-quality, welcoming experiences. The manager leads the team in delivering tastings and tours, oversees events hosted at the cellar door, and collaborates on food and beverage offerings such as grazing menus and wood-fired pizzas. Responsibilities include maintaining presentation standards, managing stock and merchandising, implementing revenue and sales initiatives, and ensuring compliance with licensing, safety,
and operational policies. The role also involves working closely with ownership and key stakeholders on strategic planning, reporting, and continuous improvement of visitor experiences.
Qualifications
Strong background in hospitality or tourism operations, ideally in cellar door, winery, or similar guest-facing venues.Experience in team leadership, including staff supervision, training, performance management, and rostering.Skills in customer service, relationship building, and creating memorable, high-quality guest experiences.Operational management capabilities, including inventory control, point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and venue presentation standards.Event coordination experience, such as weddings, functions, tastings, and live entertainment scheduling.Knowledge of wine service and appreciation; formal wine education or certification is advantageous.Familiarity with compliance requirements, including responsible service of alcohol, health and safety, and local regulations.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, in line with cellar door and events schedules.Valid driver's license and the right to work in Australia; previous experience in regional or rural hospitality settings is a plus.
