is seeking a passionateTeacher in Chargeon aPermanent, Full-Timebasis based in Ipswich.
About the role
As Teacher in Charge, you will provide day-to-day educational and operational leadership under the direction of the School Principal.
You will support high-quality teaching, student wellbeing, engagement, safeguarding and vocational outcomes while contributing to a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed school environment.
Your responsibilities will include leading staff briefings and debriefings, supporting professional development, coordinating student induction, overseeing student engagement and case-management processes, and leading agreed campus programs and improvement initiatives.
What will the role involve?
Maintain and apply current knowledge of school policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
Provide instructional leadership and support staff professional development.
Support daily staff briefings, debriefings, student assemblies and relevant staff training.
Coordinate the induction and orientation of new students.
Support student engagement, attendance and case-management processes.
Support and supervise staff and volunteers within the position's delegated authority.
Lead agreed school programs, projects and improvement initiatives.
Contribute to safeguarding, student protection, workplace health and safety, and emergency-management processes.
Am I a good match?
Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers, together with relevant teaching qualifications and experience.
Hold, or be willing to obtain, current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver teaching and learning programs that respond to the diverse strengths,



needs and circumstances of young people who are at risk of disengaging from education.
Demonstrated ability to identify, implement and review reasonable adjustments for students with disability, consistent with the Disability Discrimination Act **** and the Disability Standards for Education ****.
Demonstrated ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching, assessment and learning practices, including the purposeful use of learning technologies, to support students to work towards their potential.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and apply trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate and evidence-based behaviour-support strategies within a safe and supportive learning workplace.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a small team, uphold the school's philosophy and ethos, build productive partnerships and contribute to improved educational outcomes.
Be able to demonstrate the importance of following procedures and always ensuring a safe educational environment.
Complete a National and/or International Police Check prior to employment and at the discretion of the YMCA
Complete a National and/or International Police Check prior to employment and at the discretion of the YMCA
Achievement of YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training.
