Under the general supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) or the Department Manager, Hospital Aides assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment and adequate stock supply (excluding drugs) to enable clinical staff to deliver a high standard of care to patients in the ward/unit.It is expected the role will have direct contact with blood or body substances or infectious material, which needs to be considered in all tasks undertaken.
The Team
The LGH Casual Pool offers the opportunity to work across various departments within Launceston General Hospital, gaining valuable experience in multiple areas.Casual Pool enables a greater flexibility of shifts, promoting a healthy work life balance.Members of Casual Pool are supported by the Pool Office Team of Nurses and Staffing Support Officers.
The Role
The Hospital Aide-Pool provides support to wards and units across the Launceston General Hospital through stock maintenance, cleaning, and errands.
The role is vital to a well-functioning patient environment including in-patient wards and outpatient clinics.
You will need
To enjoy working in rapid paced environments with changing priorities.
To prefer an active role that involves physical activity in managing stock, cleaning and undertaking errands
To be self directed but able to function as a part of a team

Details of appointment
Fixed term, casual, position workingas and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication,



this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$59,668 - $65,185 per annum (pro rata).
Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement ****.
